Auditing & Assurance Quality Review Focus Area
Question: Discuss about theAuditing Assurancefor Quality Review Focus Area. Answer: Introduction Analytical evaluation of the article published on the ASIC and the Quality Review Focus Area reveals significant areas of audit performance. Besides this, the process of quality review helps in divulging the important issues that need to be recognized by means of the Australian Quality review program along with the consideration of the primary areas of audit quality recognized by the Australian Securities as well as Investment Commission (William Jr et al. 2016). Thus, this helps in maintenance of surveillance, scrutiny as well as enforcement of proper financial reporting as well as auditing requirements of the Corporation Act. As per teams viewpoint, the key audit areas along with the key issues presented in a structured manner can help in recognizing important information (Basu 2016). This in turn can assist in comprehending as well as applying specific requirements of audit. Moving further, the current segment also critically examines the importance of audit areas selected by ASIC and the importance of the emphasized areas for maintenance of quality of audit. From the standpoint of the team, it can be hereby mentioned that the presentation of the focus areas can help the auditors in providing suitable systems as well as procedures. However, this in turn can permit them to conduct independent as well as superior quality audit (Knechel and Salterio 2016). According to the team, the key audit area of investigating the procedure of documentation in addition to evidences is obligatory for focusing on the entire substance of the work. As such, this too helps in checking whether there are sufficient audit evidence on particularly the engagement file for supporting the conclusive results related to key decisions as well as important judgements of the auditor (Knechel and Salterio 2016). Audit of professional scepticism can help the auditors in checking the probable material misstatements in the financial declarations owing to fraudulent actions. Again, dependence on other auditors is another area that needs to be reviewed as it is important to consider the competence as well as expertise of the other auditors reviewing the work before relying on them. Furthermore, as per the viewpoint of the team, it is justified to assess the internal control as this assists in designing appropriate procedures for delivering feasible assurance as regards a ttainment of functional objectives, namely, the effectuality as well as efficiency of business functions (Basu 2016). As per the viewpoints of the team, the mention of the audit areas such as comprehending business models, financial reporting along with supervision in addition to review can help in maintaining compliance with the quality of audit as well as auditors independence obligations. Again, the accountabilities of the auditor can be related to the fraudulent activities in an audit. References William Jr, M., Glover, S. and Prawitt, D., 2016. The Phone Call Essay Example For Students
The Phone Call Essay Ring! Ring! Ring! The incessant sound of my home phone ringing would not let me sleep in the early hours of that morning of November 24, 2007. As an eleven year old little girl, I was in the middle of a very peaceful slumber, but I was awakened by the telephone ringing at around 4:30 or so in the morning. I opened my eyes and noticed that it was still very dark outside. At first I was infuriated that somebody would be calling that early in the morning. After thinking it over for a moment, my heart started to beat erratically. It was never good news when someone called in the middle of the night. I was still half asleep. But since the walls in our house were not that thick, I was able to listen to my dad as he got up to answer the phone. I could tell that he was tremendously irritated that someone was calling at that time as well. ââ¬Å"What? Who is it? â⬠I heard him say. The longer he stayed on the phone, the more I could hear his voice soften and become full of concern. I could immediately tell that something was wrong. At this point I was sitting up in bed, fully awake and trying to figure out what was wrong. Once my dad got off of the phone, I could hear that he was talking to my mom. I could not make out anything that was being said, but I could tell that they were both very distraught. I heard my dad say that it was his younger sister, my Aunt Kelly, that had been living in Chico, California at the time, that was on the phone but I had no idea why. She hadnââ¬â¢t spoken to us for several years so I was extremely confused as to why she was calling. As I tried to figure out exactly what was going on, I started to drift back to sleep. I was lying down, but not fully asleep. My mind was wondering what the uproar was all about. I noticed some time later that my dad was on the phone again and heard my mom on her cell phone. I could hear the apprehension in both of their voices, but I was still unable to figure out what was going on. I had no idea what to do. Should I get out of bed and see what was going on? Should I stay in my room and go back to sleep? The next thing I knew, my parents were downstairs talking to a woman whose voice I did not recognize. I wanted to know why Aunt Kelly had called, but I was afraid to find out. I was not certain of how much time had passed since the phone call came in, but I noticed that the sun was coming up. I could hear my mom coming up the stairs. She peeked into my room and saw that I was awake. She then asked me to come into my sisterââ¬â¢s room, so I slowly got out of bed and pondered what she was going to say. The three of us sat down on my sisterââ¬â¢s bed and my mom started to choke up. Her voice shook as she told us, ââ¬Å"I have some bad news. â⬠I stayed quiet, but Cassidy asked her what was wrong. ââ¬Å"Your Aunt Kelly called,â⬠she said, ââ¬Å"she wanted to let us know that Poppy had a heart attack and died. â⬠I was dumbfounded: I wasnââ¬â¢t able to move. My mom then told us that the woman she and my dad were talking to was my dadââ¬â¢s Aunt Beverly. She had come over to give us the news, unaware that Kelly had already called us. .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd , .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .postImageUrl , .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd , .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:hover , .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:visited , .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:active { border:0!important; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:active , .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u17892eb56c5007921b1cfa9dcca5fafd:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Federalism EssayOnce I heard that Poppy died, I cried for hours. I was wretched. I had not seen my grandparents in almost two years since they had moved from Thousand Oaks, California to Las Vegas, Nevada. I had spoken to Poppy on the phone for his birthday a few months prior to his heart attack. I could not believe that this had happened. I just wanted to pick up the phone and call him because I could not believe that just like that, he was gone. Later that afternoon, my parents left for Las Vegas to help my grandmother make funeral arrangements. My sister and I were unable to attend on account of it being so far away. I will never forget the night that the dreaded phone call came. It was one of the most miserable days of my life. To this day any time I hear the phone ring late way, way early in the morning, my heart sinks to the deepest pits of my stomach. I have many pictures and great memories of Poppy and think of him often. My dad brought my sister and me home Poppyââ¬â¢s favorite New York Yankeeââ¬â¢s baseball hat and some of his most treasured University of Southern California (USC) memorabilia, such as a National Champions football trophy from 1972. I will treasure these gifts forever.

My Accomplishments Essays - Testament Of Pope John Paul II
My Accomplishments I have not had a single accomplishment that is worth writing about but I feel that my college completion will be one accomplishment that I will be most proud. I feel that I am taking one step forward in life that will make me become a more successful person. My High School life has helped shape the way for my college experiences that I will face. My senior year in high school is not the same as many other high school students. I am taking many advanced classes to help me prepare for college. These classes help me better understand exactly how much harder I must work to succeed. From my college experience, I hope to gain many things. Obviously college is a time that students can truly become individuals. When I attend college I will have the opportunity to become more independent and to take on new responsibilities. I have always relied on my parents for support, but at college I will be on my own and will have to push myself harder. This will help me to become more mature and will help me grow in character. I have long awaited for the time to be independent and now is the time that I shall prove myself. Right now I have a fairly accurate idea concerning what I want to do with my life. My love for computers has taken me a long way and I have a strong feeling that I will continue in the field of computer science. Yet, I am also aware that I may change my mind several times before I begin a career. College will introduce me to new and various things, and I will develop new interests from this exposure. The world of technology is changing rapidly and computers seem like the best way to go. When I combine that and my love for computers I am almost certain that the field of computer science is right for me. In college, I will also be exposed to new clubs and activities. I feel that club and after school activities can make a person more involved and give a person the right qualities to become a leader. Involvement in extra events has provided a balance for rigorous course study. With the pressures that college brings, I will probably want to be involved in many groups. I hope to find a balance between my studies and my social life, and I hope to offer my leadership qualities to my college community. In summary my greatest accomplishment has not yet happened, but the new experiences that I will face has been long awaited. Nothing extraordinary has happened to me in my life; I am like any typical teenager with a great educational background and a wonderful social life. My college life will open many new doors that I have never been exposed to, that is why I chose to write about the future rather than the present. Completing college is the main goal in my life and upon completion I will be very proud of this great accomplishment. Acceptance Essays

Interpreting Experiments Questions in ACT Science
Interpreting Experiments Questions in ACT Science SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips Like most ACT Science questions, Interpreting Experiments donââ¬â¢t require you to understand the hard science behind the experiments. Instead, these Interpreting Experiments questions will give one interpretation of part of the passage and ask you whether that interpretation is true or not, using the data from the experiment. These questions have a predictable pattern to the question and answers, which you can use to your advantage. In this article, I'll cover the general format of Interpreting Experiments Questions, solve several ACT Science practice questions, and provide ACT Science tips to answer these questions. Format of Interpreting Experiments Questions These types of questions are usually stated in a variety of ways such as: Is the statement "_______" consistent with Figure 1? A researcher hypothesized that ________. Do the results of study 2 support this hypothesis? However, answer choices will typically appear in the same format: Yes, because of statement A. Yes, because of statement B. No, because of statement A. No, because of statement B. Most students who miss these kinds of questions jump the gun by deciding quickly on Yes or No before really looking at the data. As I mentioned earlier, answering these questions requires interpreting the data presented in figures and text and deciding whether the data support or contradict the hypothesis. Note: not all questions have answer choices where statements A and B are opposites. In some more difficult Interpreting Science questions, the answer choices may read: Yes, because of statement A. Yes, because of statement B. No, because of statement C. No, because of statement D. This is slightly more difficult since you can't rule out answers as easily, but you can solve it with the same strategy- consider whether each statement is true or false. Then, consider whether the true statements support the hypothesis in the question or not. We will attack these higher level interpreting experiments question next: ACT Science Practice Questions Interpreting Experiments Question #1 Notice how the 4 answer choices each have three parts (they do not fit the standard format). The first part is a Yes or No, answering as to whether the experiments support the hypothesis. The second part is statement A ("as capacitance increased, the time required increased") or B ("as capacitance increased, the time required decreased"). The final part is whether statement A or B was proven by experiment 1 or 2. The 4 answer choices are created by pairing a Yes or No with either statement A or B plus Experiment 1 or 2. The ACT is counting on you to get confused in your thinking. You might get excited and pick, Yes, but get the second half of the answer wrong. We'll avoid this mistake by breaking down the question into three parts. First, we're going to figure out whether statement A or B is true. Notice how in this case statement A and B are opposites. A states that time increased, but B states that time decreased. A and B can't both be true at the same time! So our first step is to use the data to figure out whether option A or B is true. Let's check out the corresponding figures: Table 1 corresponds to Experiment 1 and Table 2 corresponds to Experiment 2: Well, according to Table 2, as capacitance increases, time required to reach a certain voltage across the capacitor increases, so we can eliminate answer choices C and D. By eliminating C and D, we have also eliminated the normal next step in this problem, which is deciding yes or no. We are only left with yes, so the answer must be yes. Which makes sense since the hypothesis sets up a new experiment the same way and finds as capacitance increase time increases, so, yes, it is supported by the experiments since it had the exact same finding. Now, the only difference between the two remaining answer choices A and B is whether the statement came from experiment 1 or 2. Since the data came from Table 2 and Table 2 represented the data from Experiment 2, B is the answer. By taking this approach, we avoid the most common careless mistake of jumping to pick yes or no without making sure the explanation matches. Interpreting Experiments Question #2 Now, that weââ¬â¢ve tried a more formulaic interpreting experiments question, letââ¬â¢s try one where the answer choice all have different explanations: Note: This matches that second type of question we discussed above: Yes, because of statement A. Yes, because of statement B. No, because of statement C. No, because of statement D. The first part of the question is a Yes or No answering whether the data support her claim. Second, is whether statement F, G, H, or J support or do not support her claim. Now, we're going to figure out whether statement F, G, H, or J is true. So, our first step is to use the data in Figure 3 and 4 to figure out whether option F, G, H, or J is true. Let's check out the corresponding figures: To solve this problem, letââ¬â¢s look at each statement F, G, H, and J individually. F- the acceleration factor is dependent on enzyme concentration, but not on substrate concentration. Looking at figure 4 and at the line for Enzyme B (since the hypothesis claim refers to Enzyme B), we see that as enzyme concentration increases so does acceleration factor, until it sort of even outs or increases more slowly. Figure 3 looks similar; looking at the line for Enzyme B (since the hypothesis claim refers to Enzyme B), we see that as substrate concentration increases so does acceleration factor until it sort of even outs or increases more slowly. So the acceleration factor for Enzyme B is dependent on both enzyme and substrate concentration. We know F is definitely not the answer. G- the acceleration factor is not dependent on either enzyme or substrate concentration. We know this is false from our last finding. H- the acceleration factor is dependent on enzyme concentration, but not on substrate concentration. Also, false according to our initial finding. J- the acceleration factor is dependent on both enzyme and substrate concentration. This matches our finding, so it is the answer! Letââ¬â¢s review the steps to make sure you have this process down: Summary of ACT Science Tips for Interpreting Experiments Questions To solve Interpreting Experiments questions, we need to: Break down the answer choices into Yes/No + Statement A/B(C/D). Decide whether Statement A or B (or C or D) is true. If possible, rule out 2 answer choices. For the statement that is true, decide whether the hypothesis in the question is true or false. Pick the only remaining answer! Whatââ¬â¢s Next? I hope you feel ready to interpret any experiment! Introduction Technological development and the demand for healthy living have brought about innovation of water being bottled in a standard nutritional method for consumption: in the place of the known tap water. The huge research and development on the part of the water companies has resulted in bottled wa ter being termed to be distinct from ordinary water, also known as tap water. The result of this has been a massive change of attitudes of the consumers towards bottled water as 57.1% of all water sales are bottled water sales. This development has skyrocketed the price of this product bringing the question of whether bottled water is a luxury or a necessity considering the cost of government spending and individual expenses on it within the present economic climate of the United Kingdom (The Times 2008). The global market for bottled water is stable and growing (Durga 2010). A forecast of the global market for bottled water suggests that by 2012, it would assume a total market value of about $94.2 billion, which is a 41% increase since 2007 (Durga 2010). Figure 1 ââ¬â Increasing Global Market Value of Bottled... This study suggest that respondents are aware of the pollutant effect of plastic water bottles, they do not entirely agree that this is enough reason to ban bottled water in the UK. However, in the event that bottled water would indeed be banned in the UK, respondents are willing to use a filter in order to make sure that although they will be consuming tap water, it will be cleaned from impurities. This strongly suggests that most consumers of bottled water are paranoid about the safety of tap water. The percentage of respondents concerned about the safety of tap water is considerably high in this study, which leads to the acceptance of the hypothesis that bottled water is preferred for health reasons. This is in agreement with the findings of Saylor, Prokopy and Amberg and Doria, Pidgeon and Hunter who deduced that the "perceived safety of bottled water" and the "perceived risks from tap water" are major contributors to the preference of bottled water over tap water. However, this study found that the perception that bottled water tastes better than tap water is not highly prevalent among bottled water consumers. A relationship was also observed between gender and buying behavior. Females in the under 25 years age group were found to be the highest consumers of bottled water. This finding is also in agreement with that of Saylor, Prokopy and Amberg. They suggest that women are more concerned with environmental health risks than men are, and this may explain the finding that women are larger consumers of bottled water.

The Victorian World and the Underworld of Economics Essay - 1
The Victorian World and the Underworld of Economics - Essay Example Marx predicted the immiseration of the working class and eventual collapse of capitalism but this did not happen. Instead, wages kept increasing during Victorian Age and the working hours shortened thus transforming proletariat into petty bourgeoisies (p. 170). Malthus went underworld due to arithmetical absurdity of his idea of ââ¬Ëgeneral glutââ¬â¢ while the utopians were deemed to be talking nonsense which was not ââ¬Å"economicsâ⬠(p. 177-178). Edgeworth (1845-1926) introduced the concept of quantities and applied mathematics to economics but his work was rejected as it ignored the human factor thus it went underworld. Bastiat on the other hand, added humor to economics and was a defender of free trade but still went underworld. Henry George (1839-1897) was a very popular economist in England and the U.S especially due to his book Progress and Poverty (1879) which indicated that the true cause of poverty and industrial depression was land rent (Heilbroner, 1999, p. 187). He argued that rent brought about not only hardships for capitalists but also workingmen hence was an injustice. He believed rent was a social extortion that led to speculation in land values hence economic depression or ââ¬Å"paroxysmsâ⬠(p. 187). The only solution to the problem of depression was a single massive tax on land equal to its rent. This would eliminate all other taxes hence raise wages and capital earnings. It would also ââ¬Å"abolish poverty, lead to remunerative employment for all, purify government and afford free scope to human powerâ⬠(p 187-188). He also advocated taking away land from owners even if it meant war as, ââ¬Å"there was never a holier causeâ⬠(p.189). Though his work was a worthy successor to Adam Smithââ¬â¢s Wealth of Nations it went into underworld of economics due to lack of logic; industrial depression cannot be blamed on land speculation as evidence shows severe depressions do occur in countries where land values are not inflated. John Hobson was concerned
